Moffitt Cancer Centre Design System

Moffitt Cancer Center, the only Comprehensive Cancer Center in Florida accredited by the National Cancer Institute, sought to revitalize its website, and align their online presence with the institution's cutting-edge research and medical advancements. The objective was to create a cleaner, more contemporary, and user-friendly design that resonated with patients, families, and researchers alike.

The previous design of moffitt.org was conventional and outdated, contrasting with the innovative and future-facing cancer center. The redesign aimed to project a softer, warmer and welcoming vibe rather than the impersonal, clinical feeling common among healthcare providers.

A well-defined design system benefits both external users and content editors. For visitors, the design system functions as an intuitive guide, providing clarity on content categorization, actionable steps, and seamless navigation.

Meanwhile, for content editors, the design system serves as a comprehensive toolkit, featuring mobile-first templates and user-friendly components. This structured approach streamlines the page creation process, allowing editors to focus on substantive content. Moreover, as the website expands, the design system's robust framework facilitates organic evolution while preserving the distinctive brand identity of Moffitt Cancer Center.
