Since 2008, I've been part of a band called Tearjerker with two friends, trading bedroom recordings back and forth over email. Not much about that process has changed in nearly two decades. Songs begin as voice memos or loops of percussion, and grow slowly from there: layers of guitar, piano, and instrumentation added over long stretches of time. That weaving of instrumentation is largely my role in the band.
On top of this, I've handled everything visual—album artwork, release rollouts, posters, merch, and whatever else a band needs to exist in the world beyond the music itself. Being both inside the creative process and responsible for how it gets presented has shaped how I approach that work: there's no brief, no client—other than the opinions of my bandmates. Just a direct line between the music and the image.
This is a selection of album covers, packaging, and merch I've designed for the band over the years.
