Smart Actions was created as an editorial platform for League to explore how AI is transforming healthcare. I led the creative from concept through launch, developing a distinctive visual language that expanded on the League AI identity I had previously created.
Beyond the visual design, I saw an opportunity to rethink how the newsletter was produced. I developed custom AI-powered workflows that could take an approved copy document, identify the appropriate content structures, and automatically populate predefined design components and templates. This reduced repetitive production work and manual errors, leaving more time for creative refinement and art direction.
I also introduced a component-based email production system that connected our designs directly to production-ready HTML. This replaced image-heavy workflows with responsive, accessible emails featuring live text, smaller file sizes, and more reliable design-to-development handoffs.
The result was a distinctive new editorial expression for League, supported by a scalable system that made future editions faster and easier to produce. The launch reached 1,500+ LinkedIn subscribers on its first day, establishing an early audience for the publication.
